Chapter 3. Legacy of the Sky

When Sakuya was finally shaken of her drowsiness, she remembered more clearly what had happened before she had lost consciousness, Sakuya scanned the room after Sayo or any one else that she knew but unfortunately she didn’t see anyone that she had met before...

On the other hand there were some other girls in the room sitting on red leather couches just like the couch she herself was lying on.

The room was huge, and made of some extremely white stone that was polished smoothly. High up on the walls there were some strange markings, and Sakuya tried squinted at them, trying to figure out what they looked like. There were several she could not make out, but she was able to distinguish dragons, racoons, birds, tigers, wolves, butterflies and a few others. The animals were of different colours, to distinguish themselves from others. Some had light tones and others had dark tones.

"Where is Sayo? My Mom? Dad?" Sakuya almost yelled, bolting up from the couch. She was really worried about them. At that instant, she also remembered the wing of light that had appeared on her back and the wing of darkness that had appeared on Sayo’s back when they were back on the island. But now it was no longer on her back, so she didn’t say anything about that, thinking that there was time yet for that. First, she wanted to know where her friends and family were.

"Could you mind not yelling?! My head aches! Feels like I was run over by a ship…Geez…" Saiko growled across the room that was made of some white polished stone.

" I´m sorry, but they aren't here...I sent your mom and dad to a random world that I believe is safe from heartless....but I don’t know where your friend Sayo is...she was summoned somewhere else by someone, I suppose..." Edea told Sakuya with an emotionless voice.

Sakuya could feel her depression grow by the minute, her world had been destroyed, she didn’t know where her family and friends were...those are things you can get really depressed over. She was a bit confused, and lonely, she really felt like she wanted to cry but she didn't want anyone to see her cry.

"How? How could this happen again?"

"Someone with foul intentions has unlocked the seal that held the

heartless captured..."

"Then if you know so much about that girl’s dear ones, then can you tell me what happened to my friends?" Saiko asked demandingly.

"They did pass through here, but just as with most other people, I send them away...There is a reason for that you are the only ones who have been able to stay here for this long..."

A girl with orange hair that sat on the couch next to Sakuya's leaned closer towards Sakuya.

"So your world has been destroyed, too? My name is Roka, what’s yours?"

"It's Sakuya...." Sakuya told Roka, but she still looked like she would

cry rivers.

"What is your name?" Roka yelled to Saiko who didnt look to amused at

the time.

"It’s Saiko! S-A-I-K-O! And stop yelling, I still have to recover from my headache. I had enough yelling from both of you two! If you have any further questions, walk up here and ask quietly! Or you can both stay there and shut up!" Saiko screamed back, she felt rather irritated, instead of getting sad like Sakuya. Saiko became angry and rather frustrated at the current situation, and the dream she had earlier wasn’t making her any happier either. But amidst all the ire and frustration lay a deep feeling of worry.

"Oh, we’ve got a feisty one there..." Roka smiled nervously.

"Sakuya! As the Keyblade master, you can’t be depressed if you are going to be able to seal the keyholes that have been unsealed!" Edea snapped. Then Sakuya became really confused...Roka became really surprised, for it seemed she had heard about the Keyblade. Saiko on the other hand didn’t appear interested at all, but a slight tinge of curiosity made her listen to further conversation.

She looked up in confusion on the elegant woman and pointed at herself.

"Me? The Keyblade master? Lady, you got it all wrong! It’s my brother,

Sora, who is the Keyblade master!"

" No, I'm not wrong, but if you are so sure, then prove it! Try to

summon it, it will only come if you are the new Keyblade wielder..."

Sakuya reached out her hand, she felt rather embarrassed, but the will to prove that she wasn’t the Keyblade wielder was stronger. She had studied how Sora had made it appear and heard him describing how to summon it but she never really understood how to do it. But to her surprise, the Keyblade was in her grasp.

This not only made her surprised, but also more worried, because it confirmed that something had happened to Sora, and it was what she feared the most...She waited for Edea to say something bad to her but it never came.

"Sakuya, may I have a word with you? Alone?" Edea asked chillingly.

Sakuya nodded and then looked on the two other girls before walking towards Edea. Roka looked on with worry, while Saiko just ignored the whole thing and had apparently begun taking a nap.

Edea led the nervous Sakuya out of the room along a really long corridor that was also made out of the white stone, through the wide windows, Sakuya could see a green flourishing park that stretched outinto the horizon.

" Ehm...Ms.Edea?"

"Just call me Edea, dear..."

"Eh…okay...Edea... Before I came here, when Sayo was called away from Destiny Island...I think I saw a black wing growing out of Sayo’s back...and a white glowing wing grow out of my back...and there was this light, it tried to keep me away from Sayo...."

"The wings were just illusions of the darkness and light that appeared at that time....the light that tried to keep you way from Sayo because she was influenced by the darkness that enveloped Sayo and it didn’t want you to get influenced by it too....That light was sent by someone or something that didn’t want you to fall into the darkness..." Edea sounded and looked just as cold as before. Sakuya sensed dishonesty in Edea’s explanation, but she kept quiet.

When they came to another room that looked just like the other room that they had been in, Edea

asked Sakuya to go into the middle of the room, and Sakuya did as she was asked, thinking there was no harm in doing so.

"I want to test how good you can wield the Keyblade..." the dark clothed woman said and snapped with her fingers and suddenly a shadow heartless appeared.

"Wha?!" Sakuya yelled as she dodged the sharp claw attack from the heartless. "Are you out of yourmind?"

But Edea didn’t answer, she just continued to watch Sakuya’s movements and how she dodged the heartless' attacks.

Sakuya finally got tired of just dodging and went into an attacking mode, with three attacks, one to the head and two to its stomach it finally dissolved into nothing.

~So all that training and sparring with Riku and Sora wasn't wasted after all!~ Sakuya thought to

herself happily as she sank down on the stone floor.

"Not bad for a beginner! But more training wouldn't hurt either...I think the Keyblade has made a

good choice. Come, let’s go back to the others"

"You mean that you took me here, just to check out how well I can fight?!"

"Yes. And I wanted to get rid of that heartless, I just didn’t want to get my hands dirty and waste

my powers..."

Sakuya anime fell to the floor and thought it was rather idiotic of Edea to take her there just for that.. Eventually she and Edea walked back to Roka and Saiko, with Roka peering at the two and Saiko drooling from her probably ten or fifteen minute-long nap.

"There is a reason why I have gathered you here, and it’s not that your

worlds were destroyed at almost the same time... Sakuya as the new Key bearer you have to seal the keyholes to the worlds’ hearts and stop the heartless, but without help you can't complete this mission...Roka, you are good at light magic and healing spells.... Saiko, your knowledge of machines and fighting are excellent...You all desires to find the ones you love so I advice you to go together..." Edea said with a strong tone in her voice.

"Sure! I dont mind!" Roka said with a smile.

Saiko wiped the drool from her mouth, "What?"

"You weren’t listening, were you?" Roka moaned with stern eyes, "Just say yes."

"For what?" Saiko grumbled, "I miss out on everything, geez. Well, whatever. As long as whatever I’m agreeing to will help me find my friends…Yeah. Or something."

"Good....Arin!" Edea called out and soon a girl in black housemaid outfit and witch hat came in through another corridor than the one that Sakuya and Edea had walked through.

"Yes, you called ma'am!" The black haired girl answered.

"Arin, I wish you to follow these girls and help them fight...This will be a great opportunity for you, to show me what you are made of and how well you have learned the things I have taught you."

"But ma'am! I don't think I’m ready for that yet!"

"No buts! Remember when you first came here, that you promised to do anything I asked of you

to do if I only accepted you as my apprentice!"

"Yes, ma'am..." Arin bowed down and suddenly black smoke came from nowhere and covered her, when the smoke disappeared she was dressed in a more battle-oriented outfit,

but it was also very darkand black as her previous clothes...

"Oh, and one more thing before you go, there are spirits that guards people at times of need, and I can feel that each of you has one attached to you, Arin will teach you how to summon and use these Guardian Spirits. I must bid you farewell. A friend of Sakuya is searching for you!" With that the surroundings started to fade away from the young girls and rainbow colored walls took over for about one minute. After the colors disappeared, revealed was a rather old-fashioned-looking town.

The "impact" of transporting to the new world threw the girls on top of each other right in front of a surprised spectator, when Sakuya saw him she recognised him directly, she bolted up from the pile of girls and ran towards him and hugged him tightly.

"RIKU! I thought I would never see you again!" Sakuya was so happy to see one of her old friends that her eyes got teary, and she almost cried.

"Sakuya? What are you doing here? And who are they?" The surprised white haired teen asked the blond haired girl.

Sakuya released Riku from her hug and looked like she was a bit ashamed. Meanwhile Saiko,

Roka and Arin untangled themselves out from the pile they had made.

"This is Arin, Roka and Saiko, all of them have lost their worlds...Well, I mean, not Arin; she was asked to accompany us. But the rest has lost their worlds....And our world…it was so horrible! Destiny Island got attacked by Heartless again and Sayo has been kidnapped!" Sakuya told Riku."Something bad has happened to Sora, hasn't it?"

"How? How did you know?" Riku asked the blond girl and Sakuya made the

Keyblade appear...

"That’s how...." Sakuya looked down at her shoes with a sad expression.

"We were investigating the return of the heartless in a weird world and suddenly we realized that it was a trap of sorts...Sora’s Keyblade disappeared and only Jiminy and I were able to escape...I don’t know what happened to Sora, Kairi, Donald or even Goofy..."

Suddenly a small green creature with a costume on came from behind Riku. "Good day, miss! So you are Sora’s sister! I have heard about you from Sora! A pleasure to meet you!" the small critter said.

Sakuya bent down and scooped up the small critter.

"Oh, you must be Jiminy Cricket. I heard that you wrote down everything that happened to

Sora on his adventures in a journal...but I didnt think you would be this cute!" Sakuya said with a smile and Jiminy blushed a bit.

"How about going to the hotel, all of us, so we can discuss this in privacy? I have rented a room there, but I have enough munny to rent some more rooms for you and your friends." Riku

suggested and everyone agreed, for to sleep outside wasn’t something extremely desirable,

even if it was in a rather safe town as Traverse Town.

That evening they had it rather nice, despite the thought that they didn’t know where their families and friends were and that they were homeless at the moment. They discussed what or who would be behind all of this, how to get to other worlds ( Riku's ship looked like it wouldn't be able to lift in a long time) and a lot of other stuff.

Eventually Sakuya felt like she needed some fresh air and went out into the corridor to go out through the door out, but by chance she looked down the corridor and saw a person in a black coat, and before she was able to react, the black coated person had run up to her. A choking grip constricted her throat with this person’s left hand and with the other hand he snatched of her pink crystal pendant necklace A dark tendril came from his hand and wriggled around the necklace, changing its size and shape, the drop shaped crystal turned into a crowned heart, and the many small chains turned into fewer bigger chains.

Sakuya struggled to get some air and to get free from the man’s strong

grip.

"Let.....me...go!" She tried to say but it was really hard with the lack of air.

"So you are the new Keyblade Master, eh? You are so pathetically weak, it’s hysterically funny!" The coated man smiled an insane smile.
ok, another chapter is up! and this piece is written by me, but spell cheked by my friend !

You who has played FF8 might notice that Edea doesn't act in character very much, that is partly because I havent played FF8 yet and partly because I want her to grow into a more friendly and carrying person as the story progresses.
